World Egg Day Celebration
Once a year, on the second Friday of October, most countries celebrate World Egg Day. Although we cannot say with certainty which came first—the chicken or the egg? We are aware that eggs have existed for practically as long as humans. People have raised hens for their eggs since the beginning of time. The history of the egg goes much beyond simple culinary considerations; in fact, it has had a significant place in many traditions for both visual and religious purposes, with Easter eggs serving as a particularly well-known example. In order to recognize and appreciate the significance and benefits of eggs to all of us, World Egg Day was founded in 1996 at the IEC conference in Vienna. The holiday has expanded and developed since then.
Eggs are celebrated not only because they are high in protein but also because they contain selenium, vitamins A, D, K, B6, and B12, as well as minerals like zinc, iron, and copper. They are especially well known for being a source of choline, which supports brain growth and improves memory. Appreciating eggs also means we respect where they come from, and we are also celebrating the fact that eggs have been a staple food for households all across the world for ages. They are one of the best sources of protein found in nature, and they come in the ideal packaging for cost and adaptability.
